DIRegEx is a useful library of various components and processors that provide Delphi programmers with regex expressions and Perl syntax. Components of this suite are fully usable in Embarcadero / CodeGear / Borland environments. The library has proposed two different algorithms for implementing regex, both of which contain regular classes for ease of use in Delphi.
One of these classes is TDIPerlRegEx, which implements Rijks-related algorithms in a Perl-like syntax. This is because Perl is one of the strongest regular expressions in the language, and many programmers are accustomed to the syntax of this language to work with Rijks. Perl, on the other hand, has a better syntax connection with Rex. All this made this class available with the Perl syntax. The next class is TDIDfaRegEx, in which DFA adaptive algorithms are implemented. DFA machines are one of the important topics in the field of pattern matching that have many applications in the field of artificial intelligence. With this class you can easily customize the types of DFA matching you want.
Both of these classes are derived from TDIRegEx, which includes general functions for matching and searching patterns, regardless of Rex or DFA. DIRegEx also has components for editing and filtering regular expressions that can be used like Delphi TMaskEdit control to control inputs. For example, you can have a textbox that accepts only certain expressions for input, such as numbers, phone numbers, phrases that start with a particular word or end with a word, and so on.
